riessi LQ Newbie Registered: Oct 2003 Posts: 2 Rep:	Suse Prof 9.1 on my Gericom Laptop Hi all, I have another Problem with my Gericom Laptop and suse 9.1. The Fan doesn't start, when the Processor gets warm. this causes that after a while working the computer swiches off (now shutting down process). after a reboot the fan starts directly after switching on and keeps running. During the starting process, i see an error message (where can i find the bootlog-File?) that the APCI is not supported in the kernel - APM was started instead. I thought it is standard in the Kernel 2.6? the new kernel was the main-reason for updating from suse 9.0 to suse 9.1. at suse 8.2 i didn't remember such problems. do i have to compile the kernel by myself ? does anyone have some expirence with Suse 9.1 on laptops (Gericom Oversose S - 1Ghz) ?
