SuSE INET

I have just migrated from Windows XP to SuSE 9.1 Professional. I would like to say I know a little about Linux, I can install from Tarballs and RPM etc... and understand programming terminoligy etc...

Problem is, I can't get SuSE Connected to the internet. I run a Toshiba Satelite with inbuilt modem. I can't find a connection setup, and all I can find that is similar gives me a number for an ISP.

On windows, I use a Wanadoo Dial Up Connection that dials number A.
SuSE uses a default ISP number which is different. Help!

I hope that's clear enough...

When forced to deal with dial-up I always use kppp, it should be there, just try opening a terminal of some sort and:

kppp

The bigger issue is if the modem is supported... that can be a bother. If its an onboard PCI modem, most likely you'll need a 3rd party driver that SuSe didn't include. What's /sbin/lspci say?

Cheers,
