Hi,
I'm trying to install Suse 9.1 Personal on my notebook (Fujitsu Siemens, P4 2.8 Ghz, 512 ram, 37 GB HD), but I'm having some troubles...
As I try any kind of installation (manual, normal, safe settings), the computer LOCKS and I get the following messages:

RAMDISK: compressed image found at block 0

crc error
VFS: cannot open root device "<NULL>" or unknown-block(8,5)
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel panic:VFS:Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(8,5)

If I try to use LiveCD there is also the following line where marked by an asterisk:
RAMDISK: incomplete write (-28 !=32768) 65536000

please note that I tried to install the software on:
a raw non partitioned HD,
a 2 partitions drive, both with fat32 file system,
a NTFS partiotion with XP on it and another non formatted.
