SuSE 9.0 on Acer TM 662 LCi
Hello,
don't know if I'm right here or in Section Kernel, but i've got big trouble running a different kernel version from 2.4.21-default.
I tried nearly every Kernel release since 2.4.21 up to 2.6.3 (all stable).
I know there is a bug in my bios (Intel Chipset, trouble with a resolution of 1400x1024), but I don't think thats all.
What is the difference between the standard kernel comes along with SuSE 9.0 and the vanilla kernel from kernel.org? I also tried the rpm's from kraxel on ftp.suse.com/pub/people....., but none worked.
Does SuSE patch their kernel?
In the original kernel there is no problem using my hardware. The resolution is OK and everything works fine.
The other kernel versions don't suppert my video card, my network card, etc...is it possible to "patch" other kernel versions with the driver support?
Thanks in advice
Shaddy
