Suse 10.0 wont detect X60 hard drive during install

Suse 10 is not detecting the X60 hard drive while I try to install this distribution. This prevents me from continuing with the install.

This thread (http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=462159) addresses the problem but I'm not sure what my options are.

Below are the pc specs:

LENOVO THINKPAD X60 1709 - CORE DUO T2400 1.83 GHZ - 12.1" TFT
LENOVO THINKPAD HARD DRIVE - 100 GB - SATA-150

The CD drive is located in the UltraBase.

Thanks!

It is an SATA 150 drive as you reported. The first think I would check is in your BIOS. You might want to "dumb" down the SATA drive. Second, I would seriously consider 10.1 as it is guaranteed to have better SATA support.

Third, check this site: http://linuxmafia.com/faq/Hardware/sata.html

Ok, I decided to try 10.1 and it worked perfectly.

Thanks!
