Suitable for Linux?

Does anyone have experience of installing and using Linux on the IBM R40e?

I've seen the Celeron 2.GHz/256MB RAM/30GB Disk/CD-RW/DVD model for GBP699 which looks to be a good spec for the pound - but how do they work as Linux workstations?

Modem: Is it one that works?

Any problems with the built in network?

Any screen/display driver problems?

Does ACPI work OK?

Oh yeah - me experience so far is with Mandrake 9.1 an on old HP OmniBook XE2 (works very nice) but I've tried RedHat 9 and SuSE 8.2 and could live with them - if there's a "best choice" for the R40e I'd like to know.

Thanks in advanced

Terry

I haven't used it myself but I'm tempted to get one of those too. More info:
