Stop LCD timeout in embedded linux
I am using an embedded Linux system (2.6.15 and Busybox) with a serial port debug terminal and an LCD which the application drives directly by writing to the framebuffer. After about 5 minutes the LCD turns off. If anyone knows how to stop this I would be most grateful!

This sort of thing was discussed recently here, one of those suggestions might work.

My problem was that running busybox with embedded linux I didn't have a console on the LCD or a setterm application! The fix of echo -n -e "\033[9;0]"
to ttyS0 (or ttyS00) finally fixed the problem. Many thanks for your assitance.
