Sprint Pantech PX-500 and Linux: Is it workable?

I need to use a PCS card on the road, and have a PX-500. I can find NOBODY who has it working, at least outside of SuSE. Ideas?

Hello,

If you go to EVDOforums.com and search on PX-500 & Linux you will find a thread that has the answer.

I did, that was how I got it working, kinda. Now trying to figure out how to implement the speed tips there (So far, all either slow it down, or in the cases of patches to kernel modules, fail dramatically)

Hey, I just posted a thread this morning about how incredibly well supported this card is on Linux. I'm not sure what you're guys' issues are, but hopefully my post can help a little... I'm not noticing anything as far as speed issues... i used it under windows for about 10 minutes and actually it was slower than it is on Linux.... I just used pppconfig to set it up and it all seems to work great.

I was able to get my PX500 working using wvdial and the instructions on this thread from ubuntuforums.org:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...ghlight=sprint

see if that works.

Post Sprint card PX-500 setup guide

It is easier if you follow the manual from Sprint.
Write in Google:
Sprint Software Downloads - Mobile Broadband Cards - PX-500 by Pantech

And you will find the setup guide for Linux. I cannot past the link directly since this is my first post.
