Special function (Fn) keys don't work reliably in Suse 10.1 on Evesham laptop
Hi all,
I am running Suse 10.1 on an Evesham laptop (Voyager C530) and the special function (Fn) keys for display on/off, brightness control and wireless on/off do not usually work, but just sometimes they do.
The machine has a dual-boot set-up with Windows XP and they work reliably in that.
The manufacturers only suggestion was to "try and find Linux drivers for the chipset" - unfortunately, I don't know which chipset they mean, or whether there are linux drivers available.
It seems strange that the keys should sometimes work. I have tried booting up with various different forms of powermanagement, or none at all. The Kpowersave module tells me that changing screen brightness is not supported for my hardware.
Thanks in advance
Paul
