Slack 10.2 Hangs from PCMCIA
Hey everyone,
I'm a relative newbie (long time user, first time installer), but this issue was working before and now it is not so I am stumped. I have an old toshiba satellite, and previously I got the network card to work (Syslink PCMCIA) no problem, just using the netconfig package. Now, after reinstalling (Initially it was just slack, now I'm adding slack after first installing windows- I assume this is not relavent but let me know if you think the duel boot is the problem!) it hangs with the following lines:
Starting PCMCIA services:
<Probing for PCIC: edit /etc/rc.d/rc.pcmcia>
cardmgr[72]: watching 2 sockets
and just sits there, no lights blinking or anything. If I shutdown, remove the card and reboot everything runs fine so it's def the network card.
This is aggrevating since it worked before, and I choose slack (over debian and Ubuntu) b/c everything seemed to work and I liked the distribution. So, anyone have any ideas? Thanks a lot in advance!
