Briefly re-opening a thread I started a few weeks ago.
In brief: I installed Ubuntu 10.04 using dual boot option laptop above because the GUI was in Japanese and I could not change it. During installation there was a warning that amount of memory was not quite enough and asking if I wanted proceed. Obviously I did.

After successful install laptop failed to start. When connected to power battery light goes orange and then green. When power on pressed, computer light goes green but immediately goes out and battery light is left blinking orange on and off. Same result if laptop is left on charge for a few hours. Laptop was working fine before and now the response described is all I can get.

I took out HDD had read it using a USB adapter. HDD not full- several gb remain free. Put in a blank hdd unformatted and same response.

Does anyone know if this kind of install can affect a small device like this? Is anyone aware of a strategy to get to a setup page?

Any advice, guidance would be appreciated.
