serial8250 : too many request for irq 10

i am getting a message immediatly after my fedora core 2 loads onto my compaq pressario 2514 laptop.
just before the xwindows starts i get series of these messages
serial8250: too many request for irq10
serial8250: too many request for irq10
serial8250: too many request for irq10

so on
and once my gui starts and if i go to any tty pressing f1 or f2 or f3
i see those messages coming

and when i restart my linux, the system will restart after 5 mins

what is the problem and how to rectify it?
