screen resolution issues with nvidia gforce go 5600
Hi
I have a gforce go 5600 card and I just installed the nvidia driver through YAST on SuSE 9.1 and after that (after reboot) my screen resolution is stuck at some low resolution, and it's some odd, non standard resolution. I'm not sure of how to correct this and would appreciate some advice. Thanks.

Here it is below (I couldn't find the file XF86Config-4, but there was one called XF86Config, which is below):

try using ctrl-alt-[numpad]+ or -
that should alter your resolutions to make them go up `+' or down `-'. Once you have found which resolution you want to keep you need to alter this part:
Section "Monitor"
Option "CalcAlgorithm" "CheckDesktopGeometry"
DisplaySize 320 240
HorizSync 30-90
Identifier "Monitor[0]"
ModelName "1400X1050@75HZ"
VendorName "--> LCD"
VertRefresh 58-78
UseModes "Modes[0]"
EndSection

Yes but that bit seems correct to me - I want a resolution of 1400x1050, but I'm getting this other weird resolution way below that.

Nothing happens. I have a laptop so got no numpad, but I tried the keys you suggested - nothing happens. My screen resolution is set at 1400x1050 which is correct but it actually doesn't show at this resolution - it's like 700 x 500 or some weird resolution like that...

Ah maybe you're right - some guy here said:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/history/203324 that 75hz should be fine, I'll try 60hz.
