Screen not off in "Suspend" or "StandBy"
Dear all, I have set u Slackware 10.2 on a DELL C600 and it's going
really well: I have managed to:[list=1][*]Get 3d Acceleeration working[*]Get the CPU to scale speeds[*]Monitor the Battery[*]Get Plug & Play PCMCIA Working[/list=1] The last things is suspend modes. I KLaptop, I say "Suspend" or "StandBy" the Laptop goes into these modes, but in both circumstances, the screen is left on. In standby, the screen is left saying "Stopping tasks" and ignoring PCI inputs, and in Suspend, that screen is cleared, but the screen goes white! Please help me! Thanks, Riddick |
Do you have
Code:
Option "DPMS" |
yes, I do!
|
Rather than use KDE's frontend to xscreensaver, try running "xscreensaver-demo" and check the display power options there.
|
we are talking about putting this computer into standby
or suspend - the screensaver is not part of this is it? I am putting it into suspend and standby using KLaptop |
I was thinking that the screensaver settings may be interfering with klaptop. I guess not, since they wouldn't take effect if you manually selected "suspend".
Have you checked the settings in /etc/acpi/acpi_handler.sh and /etc/acpi/events/default ? |
there don't seem to be many settings in those two files! they are both less than 20 lines!
Where and how can I specify these settings? Thanks, Riddick |
Actually here's something better:
http://www.loria.fr/~thome/d600/ specifically: http://www.loria.fr/~thome/d600/#scripts |
That's excellent!
I have a C600 so I will see how much of that I can use... It doesn't have a raedon card. Thanks, Riddick |
