Satellite A505-S6005/RTL8191SE-VA2 & Linux Mint 9

Machine: Toshiba Satellite A505-S6005
OS set: Win7 Home Premium x64/Linux Mint 9 x64
Memory: 4Gb RAM
Wireless: Realtek RTL8191SE-VA2

Okay. The issue is that while in Windows 7 (which I am at present, although I prefer Linux's power usage) the wireless card works. Have tried multiple times to enable the card in Linux (the card is indeed powered up) but no joy as yet. Last attempt was with rev 17 of the Realtek drivers, too. (Wired has worked from day one on both OSes; my house is not currently enabled for wired, unfortunately.)

I am not a Linux newbie, having used Linux for the first time way back in 1996, but my skills at troubleshooting have obviously been eclipsed by this problem. (It's one reason I'm working on a Linux Admin certification!)

Have tried solutions from the Ubuntu and Linux Mint forums to no avail. If anyone has any ideas, please assist. It's preventing me from using the machine to its fullest potential.
