Sager NP5750V problem when changing MBR

I installed Grub on this computers MBR and tried to dual boot FC6 and WinXP.
This laptop can play cds when its off so this poses a problem when writing over the MBR.
I can't see the DVD drive in Windows or Linux. Is there any solution to this problem yet. And I have tried just to boot it up with Windows bootloader but, it seems that everything I have tried and read seems to be bogus.

Does anyone have this laptop or experienced this problem.
