replacement for an turion II x2 p520
Yo there folks, happy 2013. Im concerned about which system should be take as replecement for this microprocesor. This systems has several failures (in the case and screen) so I need to take a fix.
I look around but I only see systems based on the mixtures made by amd and intel (the so called gpu-s) and I think these things hasnt the same capacity and performance that the old @pure@ micros. Its really a good choice, I mean merging the cpu and gpu should take a little more latency, harsh memory addressing (I think) and blah blah . Unfortunately the manufacturers isnt packing the former platforms anymore and perhaps have to buy the gpus, but I want a system equivalent to the one I mention before. Ive seen C60, E1, E2 i3(2nd and 3rd) as expensives as 1000+ I think its bad. So any sugest are welcome. I look for the best capacity/value ratio. =) Thanks |
As you like amd, look for an A10 with HD7660 integrated. No need for an extra gpu unless you're gaming. Many of the issues were Thrashed out here

Whoa!!! I never imagined this will turn like it is now!
So, as far as I readed , buying anything for laptop (and for desktop) from intel or amd its like toss a coin, expecting to be absolete and without support (the amd closed driver) or dealing with too much tweaking (to see if this work correctly with intel video). Well Im so upset, because it passed to me that a laptop with an old video chipset isnt supported properly with the newest (and not so..) linux versions so I take this one out@ Im angry too, because the newest gpus mean and does nothing for me, since I take the laptop for the programming and studing, databases and like these. Well thanks a lot for you support, it has been a great advice. |
