Replacement for an IBM ThinkPad T41, Pentium M

I have found a Macbook - 2007 model 2.2Ghz Core2Duo 2gb RAM 250gb HDD - for $350 in my local CL listing. I have been looking for a laptop to replace my ThinkPad T41 which has broken USB ports. I am running SlackWare and OpenSuSE in my thinkpad so my question is if I will be able to run these two distros in this computer.

Here is the link to the add with more info

I will appreciate all advices. Thank you!

I'd by a pc-card to usb before I bought a goofy mac.

They can work but end up being more trouble in my opinion. Just get a common non-mac laptop.

Well. Me. I would go with

instead of a

Used Macbook for sale.
Price is the same. You get more ram. Bigger hardrive. Free shipping. Plus it is new. Wally world (walmart) site should have some good choices also and ship from site to store also. Back when I bought my wife her Compaq
laptop
during the Christmas sale at $198.00. I got that from walmart.

Another site I like is

http://www.geeks.com/products.asp?cat=NBB

though a lot of their stuff is refurbished for i3,dual core, pentium dual core processors. At least in my experience. Refurbished comes out better quality than used.

I bought a Thinkpad X200 fully loaded with a Core2Duo 2.4ghz, 4gb ram, ultrabase with the DVD burner and pretty much every option possible (bluetooth, webcam, turbo cache, CDMA mobile card) for less than $350. I would consider it a very nice upgrade from an T41, I used to have one of those, it is just as solidly built and has the awesome Thinkpad keyboard.

The X series is right up there with the T series on build quality, it is just a little smaller. Acers, Compaqs, HPs and pretty much anything consumer level feels like a cheap toy compared to a Thinkpad, $300 might get you a faster processor, more RAM and a bigger hard drive when buying cheaper laptops, but you don't get the build quality.
