Reinstall Apple OS on MacBook pro

Hello everyone. I was wondering if somebody could help me on this matter. I have uninstallled mac osx from may laptop to install linux. Now, when i try to reinstall osx, it takes me 4 hours to complete the process and if i try to open any browser, the process takes at least 10 minutes. What is going on?

MacOS have some metrics that you could look at. One being the memory amount. I'd start there.

Another idea may be to install linux again and see if the problem exists.

While I can't say for sure that linux didn't mess something up, I'd put that possibility so very low as to not be possible.

What model Macbook is it? Is it recent? How are you trying to reinstall OS X, and which version?

I'm presuming that, if you're booting off a USB-based OS X installer, you're going to Disk Utility first and wiping the destination hard drive (/SSD?) clear before attempting to install OS X?
