Redhat 9 installer doesnt recognize keyboard
I have attempted to install Redhat 9.0 on my HP Pavilion 4560 laptop but every time the installer starts in it wont recognize my keyboard. I tried using a PS/2 Keyboard to install it but as soon as it goes into the installer where you select "OK" or "Skip" to test the CDs, the keyboard is no longer recognized. Can anybody help me get around this?

This is one of my favorite bug fixes: Hit some random keys while it boots.
I encountered the same problem when installing RH9 on my HP Pavilion 4420, and this worked for me. Good luck. |
...wow
Thats the wierdest bug/bug fix i've EVER heard of... thanks, it worked :-D.
Now to install and get ethernet port working so i can dl updates and drivers. Not to mention hoping that it has the driver for an ATI Mobile video card so i can actually run Xwindows to make configurations easier... |
THANK YOU SO MUCJ

I know this post is really old, but I'm running into the same exact problem when attempting to install Oracle Enterprise Linux 5 onto a Dell Precision 370 - the keyboard stops functioning somewhere between the choice to install graphically and the option to test the CD media. The random-key-tapping bug fix does not seem to be doing the trick; and my search for others with this same issue has been less than fruitful.
