Realtek Sound Card Help
 
I am a linux newbie and just intalled slackware on my toshiba a70 laptop (i'm using dropline gnome), well I cant seem to get my sound working and when I run asla its not working at all... does anyone know how to fix this?

Also, I cant seem to get my wireless connection either(I have an atheros wifi) nor can I get my USB mouse to work


Any help would be great, thanks!

Any of those work when you run as root? Sound problems can usually be fixed first by setting correct permissions.

Your wireless setup is supported by linux. I think it's called "madwifi" and can be found from sourceforge.net. You'll probably have to compile it yourself, but it might not be too difficult.. just follow the instructions.

As for your USB mouse, it should be just plug and play. Double check your Xorg or XFree86 config files to make sure that your using the appropriate mouse driver. "Auto" usually works.
