As regards how to implement hardware RAID, buy a RAID controller and compatible hard disks, put in server, install RHEL.

As for software RAID, personally I wouldn't recommend it for a production server.

RAID works with two or more disks. See en.wikipedia.org article on RAID. I only know that most laptops have one disk only. But you can use usb disks.
