QuickPlay Keys on HP dv5000

I have been trying to find a way to make the Quickplay keys on my new laptop work, but I have been unsuccessful so far. I am using Kubuntu 6.06 Dapper. I have found where to create shortcuts to raise, lower, and mute the volume, but it does not recognize the quickplay keystroke. The other two keys are repeat and DVD. There is also I WIFI button that would be nice if I could figure out how to make it work, but I need to make the WIFI card connect before I need the quickplay key. Kmix is showing the ALSA driver is being used.

yeah, i have those too. In windows they boot Media center from off or when booted(in linux its another power switch). I suppose it would be nice to make them start Xine or Mplayer, but no real use for them. The wifi on/off would deff. be usefull. But alas....if it can't be captured, it can't be used.

yes, it's an .exe file for windows. BUT it is the open source code for linux developement pourposes. So if you program, have at it. give use a nifty toy.

I will say it's a good thing. IBM never even bothered with opening the 'Blue buttons' on the ThinkPads. And look how much they're digging into linux. However, not to digress, that may change now that Lenovo is putting SLED 10 on the top-o-the-line T60p at the behest of Intel.

oh, and yes as i read the docs there, QuickPlay is installed in its own (Bootable) partition. the one Linux does'nt recognize(thats a first).
