Quick question about keeping widescreen resolution over other resolutions.

I got a widescreen resolution working just recently. 1280x768, though, I can't get it to stay at x800. It works as long as I don't have other resolutions on the line in my xorg.conf file. If I have other resolutions on the line, it defaults to the one that is not my widescreen resolution(s). My question is, how do I have other resolutions on that same line, so I can play Enemy-Territory at a good speed, in a smaller res, without recieving the problem described above.

It doesn't sound like you've put a modeline entry into this configuration.

Do a Google search for "modeline +Widescreen"

You can see an example here:

The inset to Michael Breen's page has some good info (just modify your resolution as appropriate).

Thank you, but I am having a difficult time obtaining information on my LCD monitor for my Dell Inspiron laptop. Do most laptops use the same (or close to it) information?
