PS/2 mouse in Slackware 12.1 help

Hello all!

I (finally) upgraded from Slackware 12.0 to 12.1, but I've run into a problem. My mouse doesn't seem to work anymore. I did a fresh reinstall of Slack 12 and tried again, and it didn't work again. So for a THIRD time I've reinstalled Slack 12 and I really want to upgrade to Slack 12.1. Obviously though, you can't really have an OS without a mouse anymore. Any one have a fix for it? My mouse is one of those little nubbies in the middle of the keyboard on the Laptop. In Slack 12 it's configured as a PS/2 mouse and at boot time some gdm program is run. I've tried to run the same program at start but it's a no go. The mouse shows up, but refuses to move. Any help is appreciated!

I had a similar problem, and found the udev rules.d needed a mod. Not a definitive answer, but gives you a place to look.

I looked in the udev rules and it's going WAY over my head. What would need to be changed? I've never really had to manually configure anything hardware wise on linux except for my sound card.
