problems ejecting CDROM in Debian
For some reason i can't eject my cdrom...
before i could not even umount it.. so now, before i'd type umount /media/cdrom now i type umount -l /media/cdrom and there is no problem unmounting it...however, i can't eject it at all... SO i have to restart the session and when it's booting up i press on the thing and it ejects it...... has anybody have this problem??? I looked online and many people seem to have this problem??? does anyone know how to fix it? Any help??? |
Right click on the CDROM icon, and select 'Eject'

i did try that too and does not seem to work...I mean, the cdrom is unmounted, how do i eject it??
|
Well if it is unmounted (and you did not get any "busy" errors when un-mounting), you should be able to eject using:
eject /media/cdrom Try it in both user and root. Also check your fstab that it is actually mounting in /media/cdrom KC |
