problem with the battery level
 
Hi all, I installed the Linux Red Hat 9 on my laptop ( Compaq Presario 2100) and it works fine, but the battery level is not showing on the taskbar. I have been trying many things to make it work.
I updated the bios and it changed nothing.

Most likely RH 9 doesn't come with ACPI enabled in its standard kernel. You will have to install ACPI in the kernel to enable battery status on your laptop. Here is a good place to get the ACPI patches for your kernel.
