you could try installing in text mode, and then adjusting your X configuration after the install...

also, maybe there's some kinda boot parameter you could try when starting the install, like vga=normal or something...

just my two cents...

to install Fedora in text mode; at the boot prompt type in 'linux text'.

when youre installing, there should be an option in the "pick your monitor" section for a generic laptop display or generic LCD display [or something similar]. thats probably what you want to pick. it will probably have a number of resolutions to pick from. find out what your maximum monitor resolution [i.e. 1024x768] is and pick that.

The Inspiron 1150 has a Intel 82855 grapics chip that works with the XFree i810 driver. However to get a resolution of beyond 640x480 pixel, you need to run 855warp on startup, each time you boot the machine. After that you can configure the resolution with sax2.

if you want to... why not?? but suse was just the distro that guy that made that page used, it doesn't have to be what YOU use...

it's an option that you have... you can install it in english, don't worry!!

suse has it's roots in germany, but recently it was purchased by an american company, novell...
