Problem Configuring Internet On RED HAT 9

Dear All,
I could not continue with FEDORA as my screen would fade out on booting up but the occaisons it did not I could access the net easily. Now I have installed RED HAT 9 but I am unable to access the net at all. I have a broad band connection provided by BSNL and I went through Internet connection wizard and filled in the required data and subsequently activated the profile too. But it seems to be a no win situation. I have a TOSHIBA Satellite laptop and have a dual boot system. I can access the net easily from windows. I chose the DSL option to configure the connection.
I badly need help.

don't use redhat 9. if you're fed up with fedora, pick something else modern, not redhat9 which is about 5 years obselete.

I agree with acid_kewpie, since red hat moved to its fedora products, I migrated from redhat 9 to suse's 10 series.

Does your DSL account require you to log in to their service each time? Windows might be doing that for you, since you configured it in the Internet connection wizard. You'd have to supply the same info for your linux distribution too.
