I've searched across the threads and haven't found a question to this. I hope I didn't miss it somewhere. I have installed both Red Hat and Suse on a laptop in the past. Although I finally got MOST devices working, the experiences were VERY frustrating.
I'm in the market for a new laptop and thought it might be smart to find a laptop with Linux preinstalled, where the vendor has tested all devices in the box and guarantees that they all are supported and work fine.
Some google research found LinuxCertified out of San Jose, but after speaking with them for awhile I discovered that the platform itself is some brand I've never heard of and they are assembled in Asia. When I asked about support (their web site says NOTHING about support) I was told I could ask questions by email. Not a good warm feeling here.
Does anyone know of source for a linux preinstalled laptop that is a reputable manufacturer and offers reasonable support to boot (sorry for the pun, couldn't help myself!)

dunno if this helps you at all. i've never gone to any of these and this type of question doesn't have many real answers, but here's a link with links of possible places that will preinstall laptops with linux.
edit: apparently after clicking on most of them, there's only one entry in that list that does preinstalled linux on laptops. the other one qlitech is a broken link. so rather than make you wade through a bunch of usless links here's the links of places that does preinstalled linux computers/laptops.
edit #2: didn't catch the part where you already looked at linux certified.
If you buy a laptop with Linux preinstalled make sure to read the fine print. When I checked into it I found them to be somewhat overpriced and all I found didn't support all the hardware out of the box - especially the modem.
Thanks everyone for the responses and advice. After much research, I think I'm chasing an impossible dream! Ha! I think I'll just dual boot on my XP desktop and let it go at that.
