Powerbook LCD issues

Hi,

I'm trying to install Fedora Core 4 on my Powergook G3 (Pismo). When anaconda loads, the screen gets all these horizontal lines and it's unreadable. Any ideas on how to fix this? I heard the "nofb" command may fix thisd, but I'm not sure how to use it. Thanks!!

Boot into single user mode and add nofb to the kernel commandline in your bootloader configuration. Assuming your using yaboot the configuration is in /etc/yaboot.conf. You want to add the nofb to the append="<probably already stuff here>" line.

How do I do that? I'm very new to linux, and I have no clue how to change anything. I currently have MacOS 10.3.9 on the laptop, and my linux cd is just a straight burn of the Fedora Core 4 cd1.

I'm sorry, I missread your post initially. I have never installed FC4, but I know most distributions (especially PPC distros) have a text mode or nofb option when you initially boot them. You might have to hit tab at the first prompt to see what options exist.
