Power management util's for Fluxbox & Slack
Im running Slackware 10.1 using the default acpi 2.4 kernal, on my Toshiba Satellite A70 laptop. After a week of fiddling and hacking i've managed to get everything up and configured except for some decent power management. I knowticed KDE came with a bit of help when it came to this, although i prefer simplicity so i switched to fluxbox for flexibility (and it makes things nicer for programming).
So far i can monitor my battery using Torismo, but i'm not really sure how to do more (im fairly new to nix on a laptop, and probably still considered a noob when compared to most linux geeks). Are there any untilities i can use to adjust my processor speed, screen brightness or other power management features? or does this require me re-compiling my kernel to manualy set it up? -Thanx |
