Can anyone recommend a good PDA which won't be too problematic with Linux? I don't want to pay the earth but any recommendations would be appreciated......
My understanding is that palm's work pretty well with linux. I don't own a palm, I've got a Sharp Zaurus. It's a PDA that runs linux, but is no longer in the U.S. market. I believe a lot of people import from Japan, because as far as I know it's not available new outside of Japan.
But if you're looking for a PDA that's going to be used for that, PDA type stuff, I'd look at palm
I just got a used Mobilepro 780 and I've been reserching Linux for it. I think NetBSD is what I'm going to try, I think that's Unix not Linux. I've seen the Zaurus on ebay too, but not cheap. They sound like a nice PDA though.
I'm using a Palm Tungsten E with Mandriva 2005. Worked the first time I hooked it up the only problem I had was when I did the hotsync my contacts didnt go to Evolution they went to Kontact and I had to move them over. But I think that was my fault not having set it to go where I wanted. Plus was just playing around to see if it would work. One less thing I need windoze for
I have a Palm T|X that I love (built-in 802.11b and Bluetooth), and it works great with Linux. My setup is Kanotix HD Install, using Kpilot for PIM sync and .prc install.
