You need to boot into runlevel 3 and run the Interactive setup (Press the "I" key....).

When the grub splashscreen is displayed press any key.

Select the Linux boot choice and press the 'e' key.

Select the line that begins with something like 'kernel /vmlinux' and press the 'e' key again.

At the end of the line add a space followed by the number three (3).

When done press the 'Enter' key followed by the 'b' key.

Get ready to press the 'i' key when prompted on screen, answer yes (y) to all except for the pcmcia (answer no [n] for this).

After booting is compleate log on as root and do something like;

chkconfig --levels 345 pcmcia off

You should be able to boot without this issue from now on. To get to the GUI logon, just type; init 5

Do not forget to end your console session as root, press the three key combo of Ctrl+Alt+F1 and logout as root. Press the three key combo of Ctrl+Alt+F7 to get back to the GUI session.
