pcmcia CD-ROM on Sony Vaio Laptop
I am running Debian unstable on my Vaio PCG-Z600NE, Kernel 2.4.21.
This machine has no internal CD-Rom but an external one with PCMCIA/CardBus adapter. Every time I plug in the card the system freezes, also when booting up with the card inserted.
I read about this boot parameter for the 2nd IDE-controller "ide2=0x180,0x386" but it doesnt work for me. when inserting the card, its recognized by the pcmcia-tools, also the cdrom begins to spin up. But right after that the system dies.
Anyone experienced similar problems?
Thanks for any hint,
