I have a wireless pcmcia card in a bridge in a pc. It was an interrupt problem but I banged my head on the wall trying to get it to go because this stuff is all plug and pray. I don't remember this particular problem but I remember it freezing until I removed the card...
I'm not sure how the Mandrake startup scripts work, but you need to pass irq_mode=x to the i82365 module, where x equals 1 or 0. You want your startup scripts to call 'modprobe i82365 irq_mode=x' Try both 1 and 0.
In Slackware, it's located in the /etc/rc.d/rc.pcmcia script. I think Mandrake is sysv, so it should be started from a script in the /etc/rc.d/rc3.d directory.
I hope this makes sense.
