I am using DELL Latitude D600 laptop. Was using PCLOS2007 before as a live cd and a install (backtrack II and III as well) and everything was running smooth. Since yesterday i have PCLOS2008 MiniMe iso. First used ii in VirtualBox as a mounted iso image under windows xp sp2. Works as a charm. Then tried to burn a cd via Nero. Succesfull. Then Was trying to boot up from it. And 10 minutes later was still trying. Hangs with PCLOS logo in the background and two leds (num lock and caps lock) are blinking like the whole hardware is frozen. The only way to get it back was to power it down. Ok I said maybe that is just a iso burning error. Booted up from my kingston usb stick with Backtrack III on it. Got cd burned with K3b and tried to boot up from it then. Same result. Tried booting up to do media check. Goes as far as to the SCSI PROBING and freezes up. Tried safe mode (no scsi probing etc etc.) works like a charm. Booted up winxp and tried cd via virtualbox. Went through no problem. So i am clever enough that my scsi device is causing the whole problem.
So I have couple of questions:
A) How can I solve this problem?
B) I know that there are codes for booting with some features disabled, like noscsi, noagp etc where can I add this boot option in backtrack there was a prompt to do it but in PCLOS it goes straight to boot menu.
C) Maybe a silly question but... If I will try booting up with safemode boot option and then install this system will I loose some features, or will I still have a problem with hanging linux during boot?
D) How to install a device drivers under Linux? Where can i get a good how to manual?
Please try to give an answers in plain english if its possible.

If you hit the tab key and write noscsi then press enter, that should get you past the stage where MiniMe hangs. After you have installed MiniMe you can add the noscsi option permenantly to the Grub (boot) menu. This is a common problem with Dell laptops, they don't like being probed.
If you install booting with the safemode option the only thing the may not possibly get done correctly is your display driver. Safemode uses Vesa mode for display. It's simple enough to rectify this after installation if the above doesn't work.
I was asking about a place where i could add the noscsi option. It was so obvious that i should spot it straight away. I was just to tired i suppose.
After taking a good night sleep realized my mistake. Now it works like a charm. Beautyfull distro. Absolutely love it and best thing is that takes really tiny amount of space cause its not packed with all the unnecesery software. Just basic stuff and you can add everything you need from synaptic package manager or from sources.
One more time big thank you for {BBI}Nexus{BBI} and sorry for wasting your time. I hope you will not hold it against me.
Those urls are brilliant and have already registered at pclos forum.

LOL, it's not a waste of my time. We have all been victims of 'oversight' at some point in our lives. You're up and running which is the most important thing.
Dont know if this will help but after reading forever it popped in my head that Acronis Start up recovery manager in TrueImage might be causeing my FREEZE AT SETTING CLOCK. Sure enough I deactivated it in windows xp and now I can boot up minime 2008. Unfortunately now I have to figure out how to get my usb keyboard and mouse to work.
I also noticed that acronis os selector causes problems too.
Just my 2cents! If it helps it help if not it might help someone else.
Wow mate thanks for reminding me how dorky i was when starting in Linux world . I never marked it as solved did I? The solution was to add noscsi in grub menu of a livecd...
