Parabola GBU/Linux 2012 laptop dualboot

Hi

I have never used or installed GNU/Linux before but I absolutely love and feel drawn to try.

I would like to buy this laptop or similar with windows7 only because I bought the game Street Fighter X Tekken. I don`t like windows and will never use it for anything else.

I want to use Parabola GNU/Linux.
Will there be any problem with drivers, CPU or the iGPU or heating?
Is a dualboot problem-free? e.g. 50GB for win7 and 450GB for Linux.

Thank you

The best way to find out is to try it. If you have VirtualBox isntalled on windows, you could test Parabola in it. You could download it and burn it to CD/DVD and try it before installing. I notice that it is not in the top 100 at distrowatch so I don't know how popular it is. Of course, not being listed there on distrowatch doesn't mean that much. If it doens't have a lot of users and forum support that could present problems down the road.

For some it is, if you do it right. That usually involves some research and reading if you don't have any experience.

Parabole is a libre distribution, which means that it makes no kind of proprietary firmware available. This may be a problem if such kind of firmware is needed for hardware in your laptop.

Could you please recommend a disto compatible with the hardware of this laptop. Manjaro or maybe openSUSE?
Thank you

There is no specification which wireless chipset is used (this may be the one causing complications), but usually the Thinkpads are linux friendly, so I would choose a distro that fits your needs and test it on that machine. If unsure I would recommend Mint or openSuse.
