Packard Bell I-Go 2491 Battery

I'm running RedHat 9 and GNome, but for some reason the battery indicator won't detect my laptop's battery when its plugged in, and Windows picks it up. Is there a setting or something I need to change?

You will need to enable APM or ACPI in your kernel. You'll need a fresh source to do that ( kernel.org )
