Notebook brand advice


What is a brand that you recomend staying away from for its lack of linux support?

Well, I'd rather not back away from any single brand but instead highlight some that do come with good Linux support: EmperorLinux and Monarch Computer. These ship laptops with the distribution of your choice installed, configured for that very machine, and offer Linux support options.

Also, checking Linux on laptops before buying is generally a very good idea. I have a couple of laptops and all work fine with Linux now but they all need a few tricks to get going fully.
