Not the better resolution!!

Good night!

I install the Fedora 7 in my labtop, and my actual screen resolution is 800x600, but not the better one, because it remains with a black frame with 2inches width around the screen!! Not ocupe the total screen!! the better resolution is 1024x768, but there isn't choice for this resoluton!
How I can solve this problem?
