Nokia 6600

Hi,
I've considered buying Nokia 6600 but I'd just like to know what kind of experiences do you have with it? Does it work well with Linux? I'm a newbie user and I'd like to know what kind of problems I may have with it. Is bluetooth hard to configure with SuSE?

I did a quick google search "bluetooth nokia 6600 linux" and the first hit was

"Connecting Nokia 6600 and Linux over Bluetooth HOWTO"
http://www.unix-ag.uni-kl.de/~leonar...600-howto.html

Unfortunately bits of it are in German, and it is not Suse specific but it certainly seems possible.

That seems to be good howto but I'd still like to know how does calendar syncing and others like that work with Linux? I've heard it requires MS Outlook but I've also heard this is somehow possible also with Linux and some other program (evolution if I'm not wrong)

Hi

I have my Nokia 6600 working as a modem using Fedora 4. I have tried unsuccessfully to use the same instructions to get it working on Suse 10 and alson on Ubuntu. I am a newbie and relying on the patience of various friends. If you are still needing specific instructions how to use the bluetooth nokia6600 modem I can send you hat I have been given, which I think is based on the advice you were sent from that German chap.

I also would like to know how you progress with the synchronization software as I have been unable to do it so far. I am completely fed up with windows and refuse to return to the XP compatible Nokia software.

Good luck and let me know if you need those instructions

Heruka
