No sound from headphone jack on Dell M6400 (Debian Lenny)

I am running Debian Lenny on a new Dell Precision M6400. The laptop speakers work fine, but the headphone jack does not appear to work -- I cannot use headphones or drive external speakers. When plugging/unplugging the jack, the laptop speakers turn off/on as expected.

With alsamixer, I have Master, Headphone, PCM, and Front all set to about 90%.

There is nothing in the BIOS setups to enable/disable the headphone jack.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you.
