no response from keyboard
I installed gentoo on my toshiba A75 laptop and while installing it both the touchpad and keyboard works. I am using the 2.6.9 kernel on there, and when I boot up into it I get no keyboard or touchpad response what so ever. I'm guessing it's something with my kernel config, but I can't figure out what. I basically left the defaults, except for what the online gentoo guide said to change.

I'm not sure how Gentoo handles hardware detection at boot, but I had a similar problem is several other distros on my laptop. The way I got around it was to tap the spacebar during the boot process until I saw the cursor move. I think it is related to certain ps2 controllers not auto-detecting the idle keyboard. Worth a shot.
