no fan control on hp probook 4320

hello all

how can I control the cpu fan on my HP ProBook? I'm running Ubuntu 10.04
* /proc/acpi/fan is empty
* sensors-detect didn't unveil any fan control
* acpitools says fan is not available

what other possibilities are there?

a.)Why would you mess with it.. Get good ventilation around laptop and airconditioning and fans will stay low.

b.)I use this distributed computing thing, it makes fans rotating at constant speed (high) and eventualy you won't hear them any more :-)

because it's unnecessary for the fan to run. I managed to clock all my cores at the lowest possible frequency with the powersave governor, nevertheless the fans spin at max. In windows7, for example, the fans immediately slow down or even turn off.

any ideas?
