Newbie with SuSE 9 & Dell Laptop 4150

Hey whats up. Im trying to get SusE 9 running at 1024x768 on a Dell Inspiron 4150 but it will not work correctly. When this resolution is chosen the screen has about an inch of black in the center and acts funny.

Anyone have any ideas? Or is there something I missed here?

Working at 800x600 just fine, but would like to configure it to use the above. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What does your laptop trully support? (ie when it ran windows)

clove this it ran at 102x768, and here are the resolutions supported.

1024 x 768 at 16.8 million colors (XGA)
1400 x 1050 at 16.8 million colors (SXGA+)
1600 x 1200 at 16.8 million colors (UXGA)

And I beleave this is the card: ATI Mobility RADEON 7500C.

Did you do the updates? I have a Inspiron 8200. Running at 1600x1200

and it seems to be ok after I ran all the updates.. thats all i know :P sorry
