Newbie HP 2133 Suse enterprise questions

Hi All, I am new to Linux. I started with DOS PCs, moving up through Windows and settling on Apple Macs. Recently I bought the HP 2133 Net Book for word processing and email/browsing on the move. It came with Suse 10 installed which seems OTT for what I want.

So here is my question: Can I replace it with Linpus as it appeals and is easy on the eye. I have the live CD but the HP has no CD drive. Could I install it from a USB stick? And if so how?

Welcome to LQ!!

There are scads of articles here about netbooks in general---including discussion of installing from USB sticks. I assume that one can use a bootable CD to create a bootable stick, but I don't have the details on how to do it.

How about a USB CDROM?
