Network goes down

Hi all!
Have a problem with the wireless network on my laptop it is an Acer and running Debian squeeze all work perfect BUT when the computer goes into sleep mode or the lid is closed the network goes down and will never come up again until i restart the computer.
I had Ubuntu installed before i install Debian and there was no such problem with the network.
