network card disabled by linux

i run rh 9 and winXP as dualboot
first the ethernet worked fine under windows, after installing the network card in linux the network card is off when i start windows, after deinstalling the network card in linux the network is working again in windows. i think linux is shutting off the network card in the bios when linux is shut down, where can i turn this off?

If you go into your computer bios, and then to power management (or something like that), there should be an option to use power management for the network card.

in the bios setup, you may have sthing like "plug&play os yes/no"
try to turn off this feature.
it eliminated similar probs I had with a noname network adapter
