hello all,
I am going to work. im looking forward to purchase a netbook now, but im totally confused. Hoping some help from you people .
Basic requirements:
-10.2 inch or 10.1 inch screen (HD prefered)
-at least 160 GB
-most importantly : Good build, and should not broke early.
-budget - under $320
I have heard that hp's are not of good quality, their warranty states that they will either be made of new or used parts that will be equivalent to new, , not very sure about dell too.
I have done some search and currently i'm looking at degee I8B11D4 10.2 inch, samsung N210 10.1" Netbook but i'm open to suggestions .
According to a recent survey I read, Asus and Toshiba are the most reliable makes. I've got an Asus eeepc 1001HA (10.2", 160 GB, Intel Atom 270 (1.6 GHz),came with 1GB RAM but I've increased it to 2 GB) and I'm very satisfied with it.
Most netbooks use 1024x600 as their resolution. I doubt you're going to find many 1366x768 netbooks. I believe there are a few, but then your options are limited to those.
brianL is right, the ASUS EEEPC is a good choice, though it might be a tad higher in price then what your budget allows. I bought an Acer, and it broke down on me within 6 months.
Have had mine for over a year and love them. YMMV!
Also have an AOA-150 for two years now running
Fedora 15 alpha Gnome 3 desktop at the moment, great little
machine. The screen is slightly smaller than the D250 though.
I bought an Acer Aspire one somewhere in February. Had to get a refund because vlc would not play videos correctly (sound stutters).
I then bough a Samsung NC110. It works very well, and has a handsome 8 hours of battery. You can basically use it as a mobile phone: forget the power cable at home, use it when needed during the day, and plug it back in the wall for the night.
Works perfect for me!
I have an AAO AOA-150, since Feb, '09 and no problems with it. In fact using it as I type with an external monitor, kb/mouse setup. It could use a longer lasting battery.
